Make Eggnog

The perfect holiday treat

Method

    Step 1

    In a large bowl using a mixer, beat egg yolks together with sugar for ten minutes until the mixture is firm and butter-coloured.

    Step 2

    Add in bourbon and brandy slowly and gradually. Allow mixture to cool in the fridge for up to six hours.

    Step 3

    30 minutes before serving, stir milk and ground nutmeg into the chilled yolk mixture.

    Step 4

    In a separate bowl, beat whipped cream with a mixer on high speed until the cream forms stiff peaks. In another bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.

    Step 5

    Gently fold the egg white mixture into the egg yolk mixture then fold cream into the egg mixture.

    Step 6

    Pour mixture into tacky festive mugs and garnish with a tiny pinch of ground nutmeg.

    Voilà, Christmas cheer in a cup!
