In the world of mixology, French barman Nicolas de Soto is on the all-star team. He first built a name for himself at the Experimental Cocktail Club in Paris, London and New York before opening his own cocktail bar, Mace, in Manhattan’s East Village – one of the World’s 50 Best Bars.
Named for the outer shell of the nutmeg seed, Mace is all about spice. Nicolas’s inspirations come from around the world, and his cocktails are cuisine focused. On Wednesday, 15 February from 8pm till midnight, Nicolas will be bringing five of his spice-inspired cocktails to our fave speakeasy in Central, Stockton. There’s the grassy and slightly bitter Mustard Seed, the light and frothy Thai Chilli and the fruity, floral Lavender. The final two libations are being kept hush hush, but we can give you a hint – they contain the mixologist’s ingredient of choice: pandan.
