Felix at The Peninsula returns to its roots by bringing back its original chef for one weekend

To welcome their new chief sommelier, Darius Allyn, and celebrate fine gastronomy, Felix at The Peninsula has returned to where it all began and brought back the very chef that opened the restaurant 16 years ago, Chef David Abella, to combine and complement new Chef Yoshiharu Kaji's very different and delicious style. Together, they hosted a special weekend menu for lucky patrons and fans of Felix flavours while overlooking the dazzling sunshine from its lofty setting within the Philippe Starck-designed walls.

We sampled several dishes from Abella and Kaji, both with completely different, and divine, styles of preparing and combining ingredients. A few of the highlights of the day:

The wines that accompanied this luxurious menu were unsurprisingly exquisite as the new chief sommelier, Darius Allyn has more than 30 years of experience in high-end hospitality, including GORGE Restaurant in Hollywood and Charlie Palmer’s renowned Aureole in Las Vegas. Allyn is one of only 230 people to hold the title of Master Sommelier, which puts anyone dining at Felix, in very good hands.
