Let them eat cake! We’re not quite Marie Antoinette, but we sure do love a pretty cake. Trendy cake shop Vive recently opened its second branch in Central’s newest skyscraper, H Queen’s. On offer there is a tasty line-up of gorgeous sweet temptations including cakes, cupcakes, “macacreams“, cookies and picture-perfect drinks.

Founded by Vivien Lau as an online shop in 2014, the bespoke cake boutique quickly gained popularity thanks to its creative designs and interesting flavour pairings.

The uni-cone cake (starting at $600 for one-tier) is especially popular and perfect for birthdays and kids’ parties. We especially love the Earl Grey flavour with dreamy buttercream icing.

The shop also designs bespoke wedding cakes.

Vive has collaborated with major brands such as Christian Louboutin, Cath Kidston and Piaget to create unique designs for events.

New this summer are three signature drinks. Magic Stir ($68) is almost too pretty to drink, with a combination of pink lemonade, edible flowers, butterfly-pea tea, lemongrass and an ice-lolly stick used as a stirrer.

Strawbilicious Hibiscus ($58) is a blend of fresh strawberries and hibiscus tea served up in a cheeky martini glass.

Looking like every child’s dream, So Fluffy! ($55) is a mixture of fresh raspberries, Greek yoghurt and honey, topped with fresh cream to emulate fluffy clouds.
