Weekends are made for long, relaxed brunches, and we’ve put together a top list of five contenders to make your brunching life easier. After all, we don’t want you to have a Netflix moment and be overwhelmed by all the choice out there.

Inject some intoxicating spice into your weekend with BEDU’s new weekend lunch menu, featuring some of the Middle Eastern eatery’s signatures, ranging from smoky hummus ($60), to homemade flatbread ($55), to charred broccoli ($120) with kale, chilli and zhoug labneh. The sweet spiced tuna ($145) with honey harissa and preserved lime salad is the perfect summery dish, while the fennel, lime and sumac chicken skewers ($140) and rack of lamb ($210) make for more substantial feasting.

Britannia Brunch at Statement

Get a taste of Britannia with this sumptuous brunch at Statement within the newly refurbished historic hub of Tai Kwun. Fresh seafood the likes of oysters, mussels, prawns and smoked salmon compete for space with charcuterie in the starters section, while classic fish and chips and corn-fed pork with mustard share the mains section. But the crowning glory has to be the roast beef, cooked to a perfect blushing rose and carved tableside on a 1960s vintage silver trolley, complete with a generous dollop of mashed potato and puffy Yorkshire pudding. There’s also a luscious sticky toffee pudding and other dessert choices to seal the deal.

The Holi Brunch at Chaiwala

Inspired by one of India’s most colourful festivals, Holi, the brunch at Chaiwala is full of delicious food, colourful flowers and upbeat music. Circulate amongst the chaat trolleys and try some of India’s favourite street snacks, including dosas. Six tandoori options such as lamb chops and pink salmon marinated with peppercorn and pink Himalayan salt are on offer, followed by intoxicating curries such as Old Delhi butter chicken and saag paneer. Desserts come in the form of traditional Indian sweets and candyfloss. There’s even a chai station! As for kids, they’ll get their fill of chaats, candyfloss and ice cream, plus a yummy main like Bombay fried chicken.

Beast Brunch at Bread & Beast

The pet-friendly Beast Brunch at Bread & Beast has our tails wagging. Offering a selection of indulgent eats as well as healthy, guilt-free dishes, there’s really something for everyone here, from Buddha bowls ($138) packed with grilled tofu, roasted cauliflower rice, avocado and poached egg, to brisket croissant ($158) with beef, scrambled egg, kumquat cabbage and lotus chips and caramel banana ricotta French toast ($118). Char siu cauliflower rice ($148) is a great in-between option. A collaboration with locally made Al’s Kefir sees brunch stocked with fruit and tea kefir sodas ($48 each) that are rich in probiotics.

Lavish Sundays at Felix

Splash out in style at Felix at The Peninsula for a lavish Sunday brunch against the stunning backdrop of Victoria Harbour. ¿ONTAS? Night Brunch at Brickhouse Hong Kong

When Brickhouse opened a few years back, it was THE spot to see and be seen, both for its hidden location and cool vibe and its awesome Mexican street food. It’s gone a bit quiet at Brickhouse of late, but we think that’s about to change with the launch of the restaurant’s ¿ONTAS? Night Brunch, which sounds pretty darn perfect for the night owls amongst us. Guests can opt for The Full Package (food and drink) or Liquid Courage (2.5 hours free-flow drinks). Expect taco platters, guac and chips and micheladas aplenty.

When: Saturdays from 25 May 2019, 8–10:30pm
