As summer comes to an end, excitement abounds for the coming school year for both students and their parents, and Hotel ICON has come up with the perfect way to kick off entering a new school year – with food-filled fun!
Hotel ICON has unveiled a Back-to-School Brunch on Sunday, 26 August 2018 as a way for families to enjoy an afternoon together while indulging in a delicious buffet.
With chefs’ recommendations at six culinary stations, you’ll find antipasti selections of Parma ham with rock melon and truffle honey, Scottish smoked salmon and warm smoked duck breast.
The seafood island will feature an assortment of Alaskan crab legs, blue mussels, crayfish and cooked fresh shrimp. The sashimi bar, boasting fresh pink shrimp, tuna fillets and mixed seafood bowls with rice and cucumber, will reel in diners as they first feast with their eyes.
The cooking and carving station will be serving up roasted beef rib-eye with red wine sauce and black pepper sauce and roasted suckling pig with chorizo fried rice and herb jus.
Main courses include roasted rack of lamb with ratatouille, Hainan chicken rice, tandoori fish tikka and lasagne with Parmesan cheese.
The dessert counter will be laden with lavish desserts like Executive Pastry Chef Danny Ho’s famous durian cheesecake and durian ice cream, as well as Mövenpick ice cream.
There will also be a host of activities for kids to enjoy before getting serious back at school. The activities include the “Wishing Tree” – writing down goals and aspirations for the new school year to decorate a tree – as well as face-painting and making sand-art masterpieces, with kids able to take home their unique creations. The fun doesn’t stop there. Kids can also partake in “Knock ‘Em Down!” – a tin mountain they have to knock down to win prizes – “Pin the Puppy Tail” and “Cookie Decoration Master Chef”, where they can unleash their creativity and decorate their own sweet treats.
