Afternoon Tea and Movie Set

What could be a better lead-up to the cinema than a spot of afternoon tea? When we heard about Plat du Jour launching its French tea set in collaboration with AMC Pacific Place, we thought, yes, oh yes.

The three-tier afternoon tea set ($298) features savoury delights such as lobster and truffle croque-monsiuer and smoked salmon on brioche as well as homemade desserts like charcoal macarons, mango mousse and mini profiteroles. The set is available between 3–6pm, and although we love the idea of a film straight after, you don’t, in fact, need to head right to the cinema. After your finger sandwiches and sweet treats, you’ll be presented with a buy-one-get-one-free voucher to redeem for a weekday Plat du Jour meal set and movie of your choosing. And there’s one more thing: it’s not for the regular cinema either; the voucher entitles you to a screening at the Oval Office cinema, AMC’s exclusive leather-chair, 16-seater VIP screen featuring free-flow refreshments (because nothing goes better with afternoon tea than exclusivity).

Considering Plat du Jour is just one floor down from the cinema at Pacific Place, this seems a pretty convenient combo to us. Unfortunately, they are only running this offer until 21 October 2018 – although management did say that if it proves popular, they might extend it. So if this sounds like your cup of tea – see what we did there? – you’ll have to get in quick before the offer finishes.

Let us know what you think – is this partnership as sweet as it sounds?

Here’s a look at the tea set:

They even have little logos printed on top of the chocolate discs – pretty sweet
