The farm-to-table and sustainability movements are hot trends in Hong Kong’s dining scene. But what about wine? Can you make better choices when it comes to what’s in your glass?
Napa Valley is a global leader in producing responsible and sustainable wines, with a focus on organic and biodynamic production. But what does it really mean to make a sustainable or organic wine? Are these wines better for the environment and for our bodies? Do they taste better?
If you are intrigued, start 2019 right and join us for a night of wining and dining on Thursday, 10 January with one of the most renowned sustainable wineries in California to discover the power of sustainability in the wine industry. In collaboration with Napa Valley Vintners and JIA Group, we hope to take you on an environmentally friendly vino voyage, where you’ll mix and match organic, biodynamic and sustainably made wines with a bespoke meal.
Here’s what you can expect on the night:
When a Foodie Club event is in partnership with a winery, you can be sure there will be loads to drink. From welcome glasses of bubbly to Chardonnay and Merlot, all dinner courses have been paired with multiple wines – there will be 10 different wines served (from five different wineries). And these are not just any ordinary wines, but high-quality, organic, biodynamic and sustainably made wines from Napa Valley Vintners in California.
Known for dishing up excellent contemporary cuisine, there’s no introduction needed for the cool kid ’round the PMQ block — Aberdeen Street Social by JIA Group. As our dinner partner for the night, get ready to indulge in a stellar five-course meal that evening, featuring some of the eatery’s signatures such as a scallop starter and a melt-in-the-mouth ox cheek main course. Each course will be specially paired with multiple types of wine so that you can find your perfect match.
With renowned Master of Wine Debra Meiburg and winery experts from Napa Valley gracing the event, get a chance to glean useful tips on organic, biodynamic and sustainably made wines.

More on our partners:Napa GreenDeveloped in the early 2000s, the Napa Green land and winery programme became one of the most rigorous accreditations that the wine industry offers. Its mission is to create a collaboration between the wine industry and environmental groups in order to have an impact on the health and sustainability of Napa Valley’s land, with holistic benefits. For the environment, the programme helps to save energy and water and to reduce waste and our carbon footprint. For the wine industry, it allows them to become an economically sustainable enterprise by reducing the costs of production and helping the local economy. As of 2018, more than 65 per cent of all eligible members are involved in the programme; by 2020, the certification goal is to have all eligible members participate in the Napa Green programme.
Napa Valley Vintners Napa Valley Vintners was created in 1944 for winemakers to collaboratively produce quality wines and have those wines recognised by the public.
