We foodies have a few favourite times of the day. They are breakfast time, lunchtime, snack time, dinnertime and (a recent addition) wine o’ clock + tapas time! Which is why we’re teaming up with Marqués de Riscal for a sensational evening of wining and dining complete with live entertainment and delectable tapas creations by SoHo’s Iberico & Co.

Master of Wine Andrew Caillard has specially flown in from Australia to guide us through a hand-picked selection of whites and reds from Spain’s famed Marqués de Riscal winery. Andrew is the author of Marqués de Riscal: A Travel through Time, which is celebrating its Hong Kong launch. This gorgeous coffee-table book details Caillard’s passion for Rioja and its over 150 years of winemaking history and explores Marqués de Riscal’s remarkable legacy through vintages sourced from the winery’s museum collection, dating all the way back to 1862.

Marqués de Riscal’s City of Wine in Spain


Marqués de Riscal is one of Rioja’s oldest and most storied wineries, famed also for its City of Wine designed by renowned Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry. This iconic landmark a complex dedicated to making, studying and caring for wine – hosts Marqués de Riscal’s wine cellars, namesake luxury hotel, restaurants and even a Caudalie spa. To convince Gehry, one of the world’s most sought-after architects, to take on the project, the Marqués de Riscal team sent their proposal to him along with a bottle of Marqués de Riscal from his birth year (1929), which clearly did the trick!

Marqués de Riscal has set itself apart as an innovator in the industry for its commitment to preserving tradition while embracing modernity. We can’t wait to try some of Riscal’s finest wines along with Iberico & Co.’s Spanish tapas delicacies. Oh, and did we mention it’s all free-flow?

All these wines will be paired with free-flow tapas prepared by Iberico & Co. Situated in SoHo, this award-winning Iberian-style gastropub is committed to serving dishes made with high-quality Spanish and Portuguese ingredients. Think marinated octopus, aged Serrano and Manchego risotto balls, salmon tartare and a live jamón carving station complete with sourdough bread and pickles – not to mention a very sweet ending in the form of churros with chocolate sauce and baked raspberry cheesecake squares.


Alongside your wine, tapas and churros you can enjoy the sweet sounds of live music. If you love the wine – and we’re sure you will – you’ll be able to purchase discounted bottles on the night. We’ll also have a lucky draw with some seriously excelente prizes. ¡Olé!
