South African Wine Festival April 2015
Wines of South Africa (WOSA) announces the ‘Discover South African Wine Festival’, a month-long, market-wide campaign in April, inviting consumers to discover and explore the diversity of South African wine.

Place: Rooftop Garden, 28/F The Park Lane Hotel Hong Kong, a Pullman Hotel, Causeway Bay
Tickets: $180/person, including free wine and food tasting
Competition: A chance to win a ticket to Cape Town
Held at The Park Lane’s Rooftop Garden, visitors can taste over 180 South African wines ranging from classic South African grape varieties such as Chenin Blanc and Pinotage to international favourites like the Bordeaux and Rhone varieties and blends, across the entire spectrum of wine styles from Méthode Cap Classique (sparkling wine with second fermentation in the bottle) to sweet and fortified wine, while enjoying the sweeping view of the Victoria Harbour.
Visitors can sample classic South African food like boerewors (sausage) and biltong (dried cured meat), as well as typical snacks and rooibos tea (herbal tea made from the leaves of an indigenous South African plant). There will also be cooking demonstrations by visiting South African chef Allistaire Lawrence, who will share a few tips about braai-ing (barbecue) with guests.
In addition, visitors, upon sampling the wines and telling us why they like South African wine, will have a chance to win a Hong Kong – Cape Town economy round trip ticket for one person sponsored by South African Airways.

South African Chef Week

To further enhance diners’ experience, The Park Lane is pleased to have invited renowned South African chef, Allistaire Lawrence (pictured), to create a ‘Taste South Africa’ lunch and dinner menu at RIVA and The Deck from 10th to 16th April.
Chef Allistaire has represented South Africa in various international cooking competitions, and is now running the newly established ‘Bertus Basson at Spice Route’ restaurant serving modern South African cuisine. South Africa boasts a culture and cuisine with many influences from around the world, be it Indian, Asian or European. Chef Allistaire is confident that the combination of flavours, fresh ingredients, herbs and spices will win the hearts of the most discerning connoisseurs.

Consumers who purchase South African wine at any participating outlets during the month of April may enter a competition to win a trip to the Cape Winelands.
All they need to do is to post a message on WOSAHK Facebook page the photo of the wine, the name of the outlet where they bought it, and why they like the wine.
The post with the most ‘likes’ and the best answer will win:
