The Chop House, under the Wooloomooloo Group in Singapore, is spreading its wings to Hong Kong. Located in Tang Lung Street, expect to explore an array of unusual signature items.
You can throw a party in The Chop House by ordering the giant beef shank lollipop ($1280). It takes 6 hours to prepare this massive dish including 3.5kg beef shank with 500g of sauces. The menu suggests it serves 6 people but you probably want to share this with 8-10 people. They do not serve rice instead order steamed broccoli ($55) and creamy spinach ($55) which are side dishes we loved.
As for burger time, the soft shell crab club sandwiches ($158) are our favourites. The soft crab is crispy outside while soft and juicy inside with applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato and lemon aioli.
For starters we had quesadillas with beef ($135). It comes with tomatoes and melted cheddar jack cheese inside a crispy tortilla. Dip it into guacamole, sour cream and salsa pico de gallo.
The Chop House serves some of the best snacks in town if you are looking for a place to chill out in Causeway. For example:
Sweet potato fries ($65)
A selection of desserts are available for those with sweet cravings as well:
Apple strudel in tortilla with vanilla ice-cream ($88) gives you a fantastic opportunity to try a dessert with deep fried apples and cream in a tortilla.
The Chop House Baileys cheesecake ($68) brings all our loyal Baileys fans to the yard.
Not only does The Chop House offers a self tap beer (a pre-paid card pays for happy hour prices, where you can enjoy the beer anytime). It also serves a selection of cocktails:
Thoo Japanese yen ($85), we call it a smoothie in another form. It can include: junmai daiginjo, tokubetsu junmai, muddle blackberry and raspberry or Jerry Thomas bitter with lime and lemon.
