McDonald’s black and white burgers a few months back generated considerable buzz in Hong Kong – and not to mention a lot of questions – but wait till you see what Burger King is doing in Japan.

No, your eyes do not deceive you, for those burgers are as red as the day is long. Called the Aka Burger, which means ‘red’ in Japanese, these burgers fashion bright red buns with red cheese and tomatoes. The shocking crimson hue is created courtesy of tomato powder. The burger comes with a red hot sauce made from miso, hot pepper and chili sauce named ‘ANGRY sauce’, and rightfully so.

The Aka Burger is available across Japan as of July 3. The burger comes in two equally enraged varieties, Aka Samurai Beef and Aka Samurai Chicken.

Whether this will be available in Hong Kong at a later time cannot be confirmed, but we – or Satan – will let you know if it is.
