No plans for Tuesday evening, and craving something exciting to round up the month of June? Mahalo, a new Hawaiian luxury bar which embraces the 1970s Polynesian culture, has landed in Hong Kong and invites you to their official grand opening tomorrow.
Located on the top floor of Wanchai’s QRE Plaza, Mahalo offers views of the city and inside, the bar is thoughtfully decked out in classical elements of Tiki culture: earth, water, wind and fire, with tropical plants and intricately designed botanical wallpaper adorning the walls of the entrance and the lounge.
“Mahalo is a Hawaiian expression of gratitude and respect , which is what I want our guess to feel when they walk through the door,’ says founder Max Traverse. Max is also the man behind Central’s much loved Honi Honi Cocktail Bar & Lounge. “As soon as our guests step out of the elevator, they will be transported back to that romantic time period when the Polynesian theme took off around the world.”
And transported they will be – Mahalo’s carefully crafted cocktail list boasts resplendent concoctions embellished with colourful, succulent fruit fresher than the Prince of Bel-Air. Your senses will be confused. Are you relaxing off the coast of Maui, or are you in one of the densest districts in Hong Kong?
With the stifling summer heat that's been upon us the past week, the opening of Mahalo couldn’t have come at a better time. Come get your tiki on and celebrate our halfway mark into 2015 – the next day is a public holiday so there’s no reason not to party it up!
