A transformation from the old Koh Thai, the new Soi 7, is owned and operated by the same restaurant group but offers a very different spin on Thai cuisine. The bones of the menu remain true to their Thai roots, but Soi 7 is a modern interpretation of the much adored culinary genre. From our last visit there, we were impressed with the flavours and quality of each dish, and also with the relatively reasonable price range, considering it is smack centre in some of the priciest real estate in town.

What: We've booked a huge and winding table that spans the entire restaurant. We lie, there is no table that big or windy, but we have booked out the whole place for a Foodie exclusive event in August for a real feast on their most popular dishes. Check out the delightful menu the team will be preparing for us:



  • Spicy Thai Buffalo Chicken Wings: Australian chicken wings, red pepper glazed
  • Spicy Shrimp: sea shrimp tempura with Sriracha aioli
  • Spring Chicken: satay grilled, miso-coconut marinated, peanut sauce
  • Tuna Tartare Wonton "Tacos": tuna tartare with chilli-lime tomato dressing in a crisp wonton skin

Main Courses

  • Laughing Bull: grilled sous vide Australian beef served with nam-jim-jeaw dressing
  • Singha Soda Batter, King Oyster Mushroom, Larb Style: crispy battered oyster mushroom fried with chilli, lime and served with Sriracha aioli
  • Kaprow Burger: Australian Wagyu beef burger, fried egg, lettuce, tomato and Kaprow sauce on a toasted brioche bun
  • Slow-Cooked Beef Red Curry: red curry with beef, Thai basil and coconut milk
  • Steamed Fish in Chilli-Lime Broth: steamed sea bass in a broth of chilli, lime juice, garlic, coriander, coriander root and pickled garlic

Everyone will be treated to a special Soi 7 cocktail upon arrival before tucking into their sharing platters for the evening. What's more, the team will also be offering their other drinks at half price on the night!

How Much: Foodie Club members $250 / Foodie Club non-members $400. Includes 1 cocktail and a sharing feast (this meal is usually worth over $600!)
