The duo who previously brought us Mr. Taco Truck has introduced a brand new Mexican restaurant to Wan Chai. Definitely upping their game since their last smaller and more fast food-centric venture, Verde Mar will be abiding by the same philosophy of delivering Mexican food true to their roots but with a more refined and contemporary take.
Including his time heading Mr. Taco Truck along with cofounder Vivan Wong, executive chef Eligio Escobedo has had more than 25 years experience in kitchens across the US and Asia specializing in Mexican and Cuban cuisines. Look out for signature dishes at Verde Mar such as Fish Ceviche with Avocado ($138), Seven Sea Soup ($288) and Molcajete ($338) as well as a wide selection of other seafood and meat dishes. Adventurous souls can look to try their Chargrilled Cactus ($98), using fresh cactus flown from Mexico and then chargrilled to produce a unique flavour and texture.
