Opened in late October, in Central, this new bistro aims to strike a balance between luxury ingredients and basic foods. Specialising in the eponymous tartine, or French open sandwich, Tartine elevates this French staple food to a new posh level with fresh, thick-crusted sourdough bread topped with luxurious, seasonal produce sourced locally whenever possible.
The venue is casual, aiming to inspire a family-style, flavour-sharing experience. There is also a bar and terrace area that serves cocktails and a quality wine list composed of exclusive wines by Pont Des Arts. Signature dishes include the salivating Tartine selections like lobster & homemade bechamel with lobster bisque ($138), the maison samaran duck confit ($98) and the array of delicately designed sharing dishes like the big eye tuna carpaccio ($98) and the duck foie gras with fig chutney ($128). Michelin-stared Phillipe Orecco, from ON DINING Kitchen & Lounge and UPPER Modern Bistro, also acts as menu curator and chef consultant for this project, just to add another level of excitement.
