Reggae beats boom through the room, which is illuminated by green, yellow and orange, while the aroma of Caribbean spices intoxicate patrons and passersby. What's for lunch? Jerk chicken. Jamaican cuisine has arrived at the intersection of Leighton Road and Haven Street in Causeway Bay.
Boom Boom Food pops up on January 4, 2015, bringing One Love to the community. Anesha Gibbs, the new restaurant's founder and chef, invites Hong Kong on a cultural journey inspired by the warmth, music and flavours of Jamaica, the country where she learned the joy of cooking in her grandmother's kitchen. It was in this home that Anesha learned the family's recipe for jerk chicken, Boom Boom Food's signature dish.
Guests can enjoy the chicken and other Jamaican classics at lunch and dinner. Menu items includes curried goat, jerk pork, jerk fish, rice and peas, beef or vegetarian patties, plantain and ginger cake with rum raisin ice cream.
Boom Boom Food is also a full-service caterer providing these festive flavours with artistic presentations for festivals, junks, corporate functions and in-home dinner parties.
The Taste of Jamaica can be found from 12pm until 10pm, seven days a week, at 125 Leighton Road in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. For more information contact firstname.lastname@example.org
