This summer, Black Sheep Restaurants (think Motorino, Le Garçon Saigon), will be collaborating with Bangkok hotspot Soul Food to bring Hong Kong a taste of unique Thai food.
The pop up will serve dishes using the best ingredients from Hong Kong and incorporating them into some of Soul Food’s favourites, including Smoked Duck Larb, a creative twist from the traditional Issan Larb. As well as Gang Hang Lay, a pork belly curry with pickled ginger and tamarind.
Through travel and dining, the two groups connected after eating at one another’s restaurants and discovered their shared philosophy of presenting food and authentic flavours in innovative ways. Syed Asim Hussain of Black Sheep says, “Bangkok is a melting pot of regional Thai cuisine, and we love how Soul Food represents the culinary diversity of the nation — there’s nothing quite like that here in Hong Kong.” And voila, you have yourself a pop up.
The pop up experience will be available from July 19th to July 23rd, at 28-30 Elgin St, Central for five days. Advanced tickets are available from July 1st.
