Most of the afternoon teas below are on for only a limited time, so get those booking fingers ready:

Dalloyau x Roger Vivier

Legendary French patisserie Dalloyau, whose history dates back to the reign of King Louis XIV and the court of Versailles, has teamed up with high-end French shoe designer Roger Vivier, offering an afternoon tea that will literally knock your socks off. Both Dalloyau and Roger Vivier have created icons in the worlds of pastry and fashion – Dalloyau the opera cake and Roger Vivier the stiletto heel – so we can’t think of a more top-class pairing. The Fall Collection Afternoon Tea fashionably incorporates design elements from Roger Vivier’s Fall-Winter 2016 collection such as XXL Houndstooth, Frills and Rose ‘n’ Roll. The sweet bites include Dalloyau’s famous Truffle Opéra pastry (this time emblazoned with an ‘RV’ badge), La Rose Framboise (raspberry mousse shortbread), Gianduja Rocher (hazelnut praline cake) and matcha panna cotta. On the savoury side, indulge in lobster black truffle and smoked salmon sandwiches and foie gras gingerbread.

Price: $536 for two

Afternoon tea period: 3–6pm (daily), from now until 10 October 2016

Thai-inspired afternoon tea at Mango Tree, Elements

You can mix and match with this modern Thai restaurant’s Thai Refresh Afternoon Tea offerings. Your choices range from a savoury snack platter of classic Thai bites (think beef satay, deep-fried shrimp cake and chicken in pandan leaf) to an inexplicably (at least to us) all-pink dessert platter with the likes of strawberry layer cake, raspberry jam cake and pink coconut jelly. Each platter – or go all out and opt for both – comes with either a shaved ice (we like the sound of the mango sticky rice flavour) or a frozen smoothie.

Price: $98 per person for 1 shaved ice/frozen smoothie + either platter or $128 per person for 1 shaved ice/frozen smoothie + both platters

Afternoon tea period: 3–5:30pm (daily), ongoing

• Tosca x Bulgari

Get your bling on with Michelin-starred Italian restaurant Tosca's collaboration with another Italian star – this time in the world of jewellery – Bulgari. Inspired by the jewellery designer's 2016 Diva's Dream collection, which showcases Bulgari's array of signature gemstones, Tosca's limited-edition afternoon tea set is the work of Spanish pastry chef Rafael Charquero, formerly of Michelin-starred Il Ristorante Luca Fantin in Tokyo's Bulgari Hotel. Chef Charquero has created a menu that's a feast for the eyes as well as the palate with a series of sweet and savoury jewel-toned delights, from the mother-of-pearl-inspired Madre Perla (scallop carpaccio in a vanilla apple broth), to the vibrant pistachio and raspberry Green Cake, evoking images of emeralds and rubies, to the sapphire-esque Blue Entremets, a cake flavoured with tea, jasmine and Caraibe chocolate.

Price: $390 for one or $750 for two

Afternoon tea period: 3:30–5:30pm (Saturdays only), from 24 September until 29 October 2016
