Also known as shaved ice, snow ice is a popular Korean sweet treat that’s hit Hong Kong’s culinary scene with a bang. Hanbing, with shops on HK Island and Kowloon, is one of the most authentic snow-ice purveyors around town, serving up light and airy shaved-ice concoctions made with milk, condensed milk and a variety of flavourings and toppings, from classic red bean to the more experimental Oreo.

We’d like to give a shout-out now to the two newest additions to Hanbing’s menu. The first is a collaboration with Korean beauty brand TONYMOLY, offering a free sample kit of The Chok Chok Green Tea line for every green tea snow ice purchased ($85, available only at the shop’s Harbour City branch). Even better than that one, though, is the dessert café’s latest-and-greatest flavour: KitKat (also $85, available only at the Times Square branch). Hanbing’s KitKat snow ice transforms everyone’s favourite chocolate-covered wafer biscuit into an icy-crystalled dream. Now we know what’s for dessert tonight…
