Want to have a fun-filled day with live music on the beach, market stalls, tasty food and drink (booze included), a charity auction and sport activities while raising money for educational projects in Nepal? Well, here's your chance!
Lamma Fun Day Beach Music Festival is hosted by Child Welfare Scheme Hong Kong, a charity dedicated to giving children back their rights and changing lives in a sustainable way. The event is their biggest one of the year, a full-day charity fundraiser that runs from 11am till late on Tai Wan To Beach and Power Station Road near Yung Shue Wan. The festival features a line-up of more than 60 eclectic musicians performing everything from rock to heavy metal and folk to electronica, while attendees chow down on street fare from food stalls and take part in acroyoga workshops, an 8-km fun run or one of the many activities at the beach including arts and crafts and face-painting stations.
Funds raised at this year's event will be used in the charity's Child-Friendly Schools initiative, a project working to make 48 schools in villages near Pokhara in central Nepal safer for children, delivering higher-quality teaching and making children aware of their rights, as well as overseeing a range of construction projects such as building toilets, repairing school buildings and providing playgrounds, equipment, electricity and clean drinking water.
