The Coffee Academics have launched new dishes to sate that deep hunger that rears its head when the temperature plummets.
They have just the thing for an early-morning wake-up, and it sounds divine: espresso butter to spread on their fluffy pancake stack. We are quite intrigued to try this one. They've got a big breakfast quiche, and, of course, they have the ubiquitous mashed avocado on farmer's bread, but it's not all about breakfast. We sampled the most delicious prawn pasta in laksa that was just the right amount of spiced-up soup and noodles.
The deluxe steak brioche comes in a disconcerting black bun whose sweetness meshes well with the thin mini beef steaks inside. A flavourful chicken tagine adds a Moroccan touch to the menu, and there is a beef tongue vermicelli salad with Vietnamese pork sausage and crab roe for a sweet-and-sour option that, despite its lighter ingredients, still manages to fill the belly.
The Coffee Academics have launched their cocktail range, which looks tantalising and potent, and they are also now selling their cold-brew coffee in cute little glass takeaway bottles.
Not to mention The Coffee Academics' new hotspot branch in LKF, where Häagen-Dazs used to be. Customers in the area can pop in to chat with the master roasters and baristas to find out about their nitro coffee and cold brews and have a hearty dish or two from the winter menu – and maybe a cocktail to kick it all into gear.
