Opened a little over a year ago in the midst of the wet market of Gage Street, Feather & Bone have built up a loyal following of shoppers impressed by their range of international grocery and deli items – from foie gras, duck confit and cheeses to a well-curated selection of wines and spirits – and the friendly, professional service. They’ve now expanded to Happy Valley, this time also offering casual all-day dining both inside and al fresco.
The 26-seater eatery’s open kitchen is helmed by Chef Eric Taluy, presenting European dishes that are crafted using ingredients that are all available for purchase in store – it doesn’t get more local than that. Highlights include the sourdough tartine ($128), made with homemade bread, roasted veggies and a choice of artisanal cheese courtesy of acclaimed fromagier Rodolphe Le Meunier, and the health-conscious Martina omelette ($88), with fresh tomato, garlic, onion and kale. We’re especially excited about the salad bar where diners can mix and match from a top-notch selection of fresh produce to create the salad of their dreams. For a meatier option, choose a cut from the butcher’s counter and have it cooked to your liking.
Baked Vacherin Mont d'Or ($300)
Feather salad ($158)
Burger Pleasure ($128)
Bonus: Feather & Bone open for breakfast from 7am! We hear a cup of local roaster Kim & Co’s coffee and a freshly baked croissant calling our name…
