Viva Las Vegas: This summer, Sin City arrives in Hong Kong with the takeover of W Hong Kong in celebration of the newly opened W Las Vegas. There's a swish of Vegas glamour to accompany the hotel's notorious summer pool parties, tantalising buffet spreads and scrumptious afternoon tea offerings. Under the helm of Chef Alain Allaire, KITCHEN turns out quirky, Vegas-inspired gastronomic delights, including edible casino chips and playing cards, although our favourites were the creamy cod taco drizzled in yuzu sauce and the seafood laksa brimming with prawns and mussels. The latter reminded us of a seafood bouillabaisse thanks to its rich umami layers but with the creaminess and vibrant spices of a laksa. There are also some dangerously addictive crunchy shrimp tempura dragon rolls. If you're planning on behaving, there are plenty of superfood salads to keep your beach bod swimsuit ready.
For those craving smaller indulgences, there's the Sweet Vegas Summer afternoon tea at WOOBAR, featuring chocolate dice and Earl Grey and orange token cakes.
Rounding off the Vegas-inspired offerings is the pool party series, complete with live performances and poolside casino games to cool off this summer.
KITCHEN buffets range from $318 per adult for lunch to $608 per adult for dinner. Weekend brunches are priced at $458 and weekend dinners are $678 per person.
WOOBAR afternoon tea sets are priced at $418 for two.
Summer poolside parties start at $480 per person depending on various packages.
