With summer just about rolling into full swing, what better way to celebrate the season than to pay homage to Southern California’s famously sunny climes with a specially curated Foodie Table dinner at one of our favourite spots: Commissary.

Opened last November by JIA Group's Yenn Wong, Culinary Director Morgan McGlone and Head Chef Adam Shoebridge, Commissary specialises in timeless SoCal classics – think fresh produce and vibrant flavours – coupled with warm interiors and a laid-back vibe.

This June, McGlone and Shoebridge have meticulously planned a sumptuous dinner exclusively for our Foodie fam, featuring Commissary's signature style that showcases its Californian, Southern and Mexican heritage.

Join us on Wednesday, 28 June 2017 for a melange of specially created culinary treats, ranging from tostadas to tamales, packed with fresh, seasonal ingredients and a generous helping of SoCal sass. Here's what you can look forward to:


  • Mini tuna poké tostada
  • Fried lengua (beef tongue) quesadilla
  • Kingfish ceviche, green mojo, espelette, cucumber

Main courses

  • Grilled and raw asparagus salad, jalapeño vinaigrette, sunflower seeds, Pecorino cheese
  • Sopes de cochinata (refried black beans, pork shoulder confit, pico de gallo, cotija cheese)
  • Cloudy Bay clams salpicón (michelada sauce, chickpeas, fried bread) OR beef salpicón (braised oxtail, rice, black beans, green salsa)


  • Sweetcorn tamale

Never been to a Foodie Table before? You won't want to miss this one. Inspired by underground supper clubs and even our own Secret Suppers, we aim to bring communities of foodies together over great food. Foodie Table menus are specially created for each event, while the restaurants have been tried and tasted by our team and given the Foodie stamp of approval. You can come in groups, pairs or even alone – our events are all about meeting fellow foodies, mingling and sharing a delicious dining experience.
