Taikoo Place in Quarry Bay has launched the Tong Chong Street Market Pop-Up Farmers‘ Stall, which will last until 29 September 2017, to promote local farm produce and reusable cutlery and containers.
There will be stalls selling local organic produce, where you can buy all kinds of fruits and vegetables for healthy home cooking and, in the process, show support for sustainable farming.
If cooking is not exactly your forte, or you don‘t really know what to do with all that local produce, you can always find inspiration and learn from renowned chefs and farmers. Chefs Gabriel Choy, Hilda Leung and Doris Wong will be there on 15, 22 and 29 August respectively to put together exclusive dishes on the spot.
For the Farmers‘ Stall, Taikoo Place is also collaborating with Food Angel to promote their mission of “Waste Not, Hunger Not”, serving lunches at $50+ using eco-friendly containers and utensils. This pioneering company rescues surplus food from the F&B industry in order to offer provisions to underprivileged communities. All proceeds will go to this cause.
Food aside, there will be stalls by young entrepreneurs selling earth-conscious products including washable and reusable eco-wrap and umbrella bags.
