We’re getting the meat sweats just thinking about this one.
Fans of Pirata Group’s restaurants – The Optimist, Pici, Pirata and Tokyolima – will be excited to learn of the group’s latest opening, MEATS, which is set to debut in SoHo next month. Calling itself a “meat bar”, Chef Paddy McDermott will be butchering, cooking up and carving both traditional and more unique cuts of meat at the new eatery, using a range of culinary techniques from in-house smoking, to rotisserie, to charcoal grilling to up the flavour profile. Note that MEATS will be a no-booking, no-service-charge restaurant.
If you can’t wait till October to get yourself stuck into all this meaty goodness, Pirata Group are offering a sneak peek of MEATS at a special pop-up at The Optimist in Wanchai, scheduled for 10–14 September and 17–21 September 2017 from 6–10:30pm.
Presented in sharing style and priced at $450/person, the pop-up menu showcases smaller dishes such as chicken drumsticks with kimchi hot sauce and sweet black sesame honey and beef bone marrow with anchovy butter and tarragon breadcrumbs and larger plates of lamb chops, skirt steak and Iberian pork presa, with coconut lime pie for dessert.
