Since opening its doors in Causeway Bay back in 2014, Seasons by Olivier E has been renowned for its seasonal menus and afternoon teas, displaying innovative fine dining that meshes French cooking techniques with Asian influences. Chef Olivier Elzer, the former executive chef at Mandarin Oriental’s Pierre restaurant and L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, was not only head chef but also a co-founder. But last week it was announced that Seasons (they’ve dropped the “by Olivier E” from the name) now has Michelin-starred German chef Lorenz Hoja at the helm, with the team from Seasons saying Chef Elzer “will move on for his own adventures”.

November 2017 update: Chef Elzer has now taken on the role of W Hong Kong’s Culinary Curator, overseeing KITCHEN and WOOBAR.

With Chef Hoja taking charge, diners can look forward to his varied influences gained from his travels throughout Europe, Africa and Asia and from his role as executive chef at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Singapore, which led to the restaurant being awarded two Michelin stars for the past two years.
