Experience an interactive session of storytelling, singing, entertainment and cooking by David Chong. One of the many programmes of Freespace at Taikoo Place, Acrobat is part of the popular Dining Room Tales series by acclaimed performance makers A is for Atlas where they invite an intimate group to dine while being regaled with stories, musical interludes and, of course, fabulous food.
David Chong, charismatic storyteller, songwriter, Brazilian jazz singer and passionate cook, weaves his childhood tales of growing up as the son of travelling Chinese acrobats while seamlessly interspersing songs accompanied by acoustic guitar, all the while cooking up a feast for the communal table in a cosy, dinner-party environment.
Unlike anything you have experienced before, if you love great food and wonderfully told tales of a unique human experience, this is a one-of-a-kind culinary event that will nourish you mind, body and soul.
Tables of food have held the most wondrous stories of humankind: stories of celebration and conflict, of joy and tribulation, of colourful pasts, confounding presents, uncertain futures. Over dinner, our stories pass through communion as plates around a table, carried on the heightened breath of a storyteller and on the aromas of the table that fire the taste buds.
Acrobat is the third in the Dining Room Tales series, offering unique stories and a unique experience, right in your neighbourhood.
