This bad-ass burger, on the menu at Beef & Liberty until 30 November 2017, has been created for a good cause: Movember. For each sale of the El Cabrón ($118), Brooklyn Lager ($58/$88) or Movember Lunch Set (El Cabrón with a side of Liberty fries, sweet potato fries or salad and a drink for $162), $5 will be donated to the Movember Foundation, which focuses on critical men’s health issues.
We had a taste of the manly El Cabrón, and it knocked our socks off. Tex Mex inspired, the juicy, well-seasoned patty is decked with beef chilli, Cheddar cheese, house-made pickles, spring onion and sour cream, for an explosion of flavour. To go with this, we recommend a serving of the new-for-autumn cauliflower & cheese bites ($58) – cheesy breaded cauliflower fritters, fried to a golden crisp – along with the BLT salad ($92) – it’s the fresh dill and soft-boiled quail eggs that make this dish. And to drink? We became just a little obsessed with the autumn apple lemonade ($35) – does three in one meal count as an addiction? Made with apple juice, ginger beer, lemon, cranberry bitters and dehydrated apple, it was a tangy, thirst-quenching delight.

Last year, Beef & Liberty’s Movember team Mo’ Beef Mo’ Liberty placed in the top 3 fundraising teams in Hong Kong, so they’re upping the ante this time round. In addition to the Mo’ Bros growing their ‘taches to unholy lengths, there’ll be a Movember quiz night on Wednesday, 14 November from 7–10pm, with amazing prizes from Selvedge Grooming and New Zealand organic beauty brand Antipodes up for grabs, and The End of Mo’ party on Thursday, 30 November from 7pm, with even more incredible prizes (including a private dinner at the new Brooklyn Corner at Beef & Liberty in LKF). Have you got your mo’-jo?
