The Place at Cordis at Langham Place in Mongkok showcases the eight great cuisines of China – from Cantonese to Sichuan – in its latest buffet offering this winter

We’re keeping this one bookmarked for Chinese New Year, as we think it’s a clever (and delicious) way to sample the vastly different cuisines that China has to offer. Signature dishes from the eight cuisines selected – Cantonese, Sichuan, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Hunan, Huizhou and Shangdong – will be yours for the eating, along with live stations (baked lobster with Sichuan chilli and cheese, roast Peking duck and hand rolls with shredded chicken) and a lavish spread of Chinese desserts thrown into the mix. In addition, you can dig into The Place’s popular standbys including freshly shucked offers and other seafood on ice and unlimited pan-fried foie gras.
