Are you a wine expert? Or just a wine addict? It’s now time to master your love for the grape stuff at our special workshop by Lucaris on Thursday, 26 April 2018, where you’ll learn how best to pair wine glasses with different types of wine (and we promise the answer is not champagne glasses for champagne, white wine glasses for white wine and red wine glasses for red wine).

F&B and wine professionals are also highly encouraged to join our special workshop at a special subsidised price! It surely will be impressive for your career and on your CV if you know about your glasses and wine...

OK... but wait, what is Lucaris?

If you’re into wine, you’ll know that a wine glass is pretty important (and not only because it makes you look fancy). Lucaris, the crystal of modern Asia, offers signature crystal glasses that are carefully crafted to deliver international quality and elegant design and, of course, that provide the most optimal and enjoyable wine experience.

Wondering how a Lucaris crystal wine glass can make wine taste better than a normal glass? You’ll have to attend this special workshop to find out!

What to expect

Learn from the best
Hosting the workshop is local wine expert Anty Fung. Anty is the general manager of Hip Cellar and AnOther Place by David Myers. She obtained her Level 4 WSET Diploma in 2014 and is also a Certified Sommelier from CMS and became a Certified Specialist of Wine from SWE in 2013. (Don’t understand the jargon? TL:DR – you’ll be learning from one of the best in the business!)

Interactive, hands-on experience

Anty will walk you through the different techniques to pick the perfect wine glass, introduce you to the best way to taste wine, show you the different types of glasses... and much more! And you won‘t just be watching her talk at you – you’ll have the opportunity to try out the different glasses and wines throughout the evening. You will also get to put your senses (and newfound knowledge) to the test in a fun blind tasting game.

A chance to taste award-winning wines

We are honoured to have a special wine sponsor for the event, the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition, which has served as Asia’s guide to quality international wines and spirits for the past 10 years. Here’s a sneak preview of some of the wines you’ll have a chance to sample:
* Berry Bros & Rudd Mosel Riesling Kabinett by Selbach-Oster 2014, presented by BB&R (HK), Silver Medal HKIWSC 2017

* Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Chardonnay 2016, presented by Summergate Fine Wines & Spirits, Silver Medal HKIWSC 2017

Don’t worry, this is not the full list – we like to surprise you!

And you will be tasting these award-winning wines in award-winning wine glasses – Lucaris’ Desire Collection just won the iF Design Award last month!

A crystal wine glass souvenir

We can’t let you go home empty-handed after a wine glass workshop. Each participant will get a crystal wine glass (RRP HK$235), courtesy of Lucaris, so that you can show off your wine glass expertise to all your friends!
