Epic races, magnifique trackside bites and marvellous beats will entertain your senses at French Nights at Happy Wednesday. Happy Valley Racecourse will offer a different vibe each week, with top French artists bringing the mood to life while you wine and dine à la français. Wednesday, 9 May will showcase Ommm, the a capella group renowned for their beatboxing, while 16 May will see hip hop group The Elem’Ants tearing it up. And on 23 May, Le Syndicat du Chrome will perform their afrofunk while accompanied by a French brass band.
There will also be some seriously fierce on-track action as we bring you the Sauternes Cup on 9 May and, on 23 May, Le French May Trophy and the France Galop Cup – don’t miss out!
France is famous for its fine cuisine, and you can indulge in delicious dishes including sautéed mushrooms in black truffle cream sauce with brioche ($65), quiche Lorraine with green salad ($55), braised duck leg in orange sauce with roasted potatoes ($60), crunchy John Dory fingers and potato wedges with lemon-caper mayonnaise ($95), roasted French spring chicken with rosemary red wine sauce ($65) and braised beef in spices and red wine with baguette ($75). You’ll be saying oui, oui, oui to the trackside delights while cheering on the action on the racecourse!
