Start off your M-Day celebration early by bonding during a yoga class ($120) from 10am at California Tower’s chic rooftop bar and restaurant CÉ LA VI, followed by the eatery’s sumptuous Asian-inspired brunch from 12–3:30pm (with a special dessert platter of rose mousse, chocolate granola and raspberry-pistachio-almond tart created just for the occasion, on the menu throughout May). A lovely gift set from Aromatherapy Associates will be given to all the mamas as a parting token, while supplies last. Brunch is priced at $488/person (or $588 to include yoga), with free-flow champagne packages starting at $298 (and the unlimited pours also include three new cocktails – hello, sour cherry margarita!).

Dr Fern’s Gin Parlour

Launching on Mother’s Day, take your mama to hidden speakeasy Dr Fern’s for the Nordic-inspired After-Tea. Priced at $498 for two, the set includes coffee/tea and an array of playful, innovative sweet and savoury treats themed around the Swedish concept of fika – an afternoon tea break with plenty of cakes and pastries. Since Dr Fern is a gin expert, we recommend throwing caution to the wind and upgrading to a gin and tonic, which is on the house for all mums on Mother’s Day. To really up the ante for your dear one, you can pre-order a floral bouquet from MomoCocoFleur ($880) and/or a dainty tea jar ($120, or $960 for both the flowers and jar). Oh, and there’ll be a live band too! Dr Fern’s After-Tea is available for booking during three sessions (12:15–1:45pm/2–3:30pm/3:45–5:15pm).

Gough’s on Gough

Treat your mum like the queen she is at British furniture designer Timothy Oulton’s first restaurant, the stunningly modern Gough’s on Gough, where a springtime brunch will be served up in style by Chef Arron Rhodes. The price tag of $598 is inclusive of a professional family photograph to take away on the day. We’re already drooling over the menu, with highlights including fresh seafood on ice, a main course of either roast sirloin of Highland beef with all the trimmings, baked salmon fillet or English spring pea and asparagus risotto and, for dessert, raspberry and white chocolate mousse or honey ice cream. We recommend plumping for the exquisite British cheese platter for an additional $45. Coffee and tea are complimentary – or add on a two-hour free-flow package, with prices starting at $40 for unlimited Chapel Down English sparkling wine. An early Meghan and Harry wedding celebration perhaps!

Relaxed beachfront restaurant Limewood is pulling out all the stops this Mother’s Day. In addition to the always tempting, fresh, Cali-style menu, mamas will be greeted with a glass of welcome bubbly and a special treat from Central spaFlawless. But wait – there ’s more: a complimentary flower bouquet box for the first 10 reservations (mention “flower box” when booking) and a lucky draw for a two-night stay at a luxury resort in Bali. If your mum is more of a steak lover, these unbeatable experiences can also be had at Maximal Concepts’ sister restaurant Blue on Sunday the 13th.

Free-flow packages start at $168. And after all that good eating, all mums dining at any DiVino Group restaurant on Mother’s Day will be completely pampered with a voucher for a Philip Wain Fresh Caviar Revival Facial and a one-hour personal-training session (HK$3,000 value) – plus an Ombar raw organic chocolate bar from i-Detox for guilt-free snacking later on.
