Now Open: The Nest Bakery

The Nesbitt Centre is a not-for-profit organisation that empowers individuals with learning difficulties through education and enterprise. The inspiring organisation is behind The Nest (now in two locations, Central and Tsim Sha Tsui) as well as the beautiful Café 8 on top of the Hong Kong Maritime Museum.

We’ve long been fans of their delectable cakes and baked goods, which go down a treat alongside a cup of their expertly brewed coffee. Now, they’ve opened the brand-new The Nest Bakery to showcase their fabulous cakes and to create more employment and learning opportunities for individuals with special needs.

The Nest Bakery Hong Kong

Café 8’s expert resident baker, Charcoal, heads up the dedicated team crafting beautiful cakes that are made with love. The cakes we swooned over at Café 8 – like the ultra-rich flourless chocolate cake and gluten-free cheesecake – are now available to buy whole. They’ve also introduced a new range of tempting cakes such as carrot cake, chocolate mud cake and toffee banoffee pie.

Cake prices range from $300–480, depending on the size. Custom-made cakes ($280–980) are also available in three or six layers. Aside from cakes, you can sink your teeth into savoury quiches ($280–300), raisin scones ($100 for 6), muffins ($100 for 6), banana bread ($140/loaf) and more.

When you buy a cake at The Nest Bakery, you are supporting the upliftment of adults with learning difficulties.

The Nest is also supporting medical staff on the front lines who are fighting against COVID-19. For every $380 raised, The Nest will bake a cake and deliver it to the doctors and nurses at one of Hong Kong’s many hospitals.
