THE BEAU TIES AT LA PETITE MAISON

The Beau Ties

Mediterranean and French flavours meld along with celebratory music that comes straight from the French Riviera. La Petite Maison is getting back black-tied band The Beau Ties to rouse the crowds with their all-acoustic act that covers both classic tunes and modern hits. Hong Kong-based producer DJ Sidtrus will take over afterwards to keep diners partying till 1am. Brand-new dishes for the night include the truly opulent Kaviari Kristal caviar ($1,398) and foie gras terrine ($248) along with larger dishes like grilled aubergine, mozzarella and shrimp au pistou ($258).

FIREWORKS EXPERIENCE ABOARD AQUALUNA

Aqualuna

There’s nothing more Hong Kong-centric you could do for the big countdown than to embark on a New Year’s Eve journey onboard the iconic red-sailed junk boat aqualuna. Enjoy the wind in your hair as you travel along Victoria Harbour drinking in a taste of HK’s history along with canapés from Hutong and aqua. Tickets include a choice of two drinks.

BAD BOYS FOR LIFE AT DIVINO WINE BAR & RESTAURANT

“Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do when they come for you…” Anyone familiar with the 90s buddy-cop action comedy Bad Boys will be excited for the release of the new film follow-up, bringing back Will Smith and Martin Lawrence to grace the screen together once more. The cool cats at DiVino are obviously big fans too and are making their New Year’s Eve party “Bad Boys for Life” themed.

The evening starts with a pre-dinner Aperol spritz from 6–8pm along with a premium selection of nibbles and cocktails, followed by the choice of a mini à-la-carte-dinner or four-course meal that features specially crafted dishes like Detective Mike’s Philly cheesesteak toast of pulled Wagyu beef, Provolone and winter black truffle, Marcus Burnett ravioli filled with crab and spiny lobster in Miami crayfish sauce and braised pork cheek in Zinfandel wine, pumpkin foam and parsley air. Guest DJ, live music and dancing till the wee hours all guaranteed.

KARAOKE + DINNER AT HO LEE FOOK

A night on the mic is almost certainly the best way to say sayonara to 2019, so belt out your go-to karaoke tunes till it turns 2020. The NYE eats at Ho Lee Fook look pretty tasty too, with a big, funky banquet menu that includes dishes like tartare of Hokkaido scallop with sea urchin, prawn and foie gras wontons, prawn toast x okonomiyaki, sweet-and-sour pork and roast Wagyu short rib with jalapeño purée and green shallot kimchi. They’ve also got Breakfast 2.0, made with Horlicks ice cream, cornflake honeyjoy, walnut oatmeal, dried longan and cocoa coffee crumbs, to finish alongside the intriguingly named guard’s pudding.

FLOWER PARTY AT TOKYOLIMA

TokyoLima Hong Kong

Get your Japanese-Peruvian on at TokyoLima’s flower power countdown party on NYE, celebrating the magic of Woodstock in 1969. Chef Arturo Melendez is offering two (early and late) tasting menus on the 31st showcasing creative Nikkei dishes such as octopus tiradito, Japanese-style fried chicken and grilled cod with aji amarillo (Peruvian yellow chilli) sauce. A bountiful free-flow package is also up for grabs, and there’ll be a DJ on the decks to boogie your way into 2020. Dig out your grooviest get-up for this one.

Price: 6pm seating – $680/person; 8:30pm seating – $880/person; +$398 for free-flow from 8:30pm–midnight; 10pm party entry – $200/person (includes 1 glass of champagne)

ARABIAN NIGHT BALL AT NAMO

Namo Hong Kong

Contemporary Thai restaurant Namo is pulling out all the stops with its flamboyant NYE ball that combines canapés, dinner and dancing, a top DJ, belly dancers and al-fresco views. But the best bit? An all-night open bar with free-flow wine, spirits and bubbly. Kohl eyeliner optional.
