Green Monday has been partnering with Food Angel since November, 2014 on its 'Rice for Gift' initiative. Food Angel is a local food rescue and assistance programme, which collects edible surplus food from different sources within the food industry that would normally go to waste. The salvaged food is turned into nutritious hot meals in Food Angel's central kitchens which abide by strict hygiene standards. These meals are then redistributed to serve underprivileged communities in Hong Kong.

Green Monday is encouraging donations to the 'Rice for Gift' initiative and noted that donations go toward procuring the rice in the lunch boxes prepared by Food Angel.

Consider turning your red packets into warm meals for people in need this year. For every $1 of lai see money you donate, you help complete lunch boxes. Such a small act of kindness goes a long way. Make today the day you become the change you want to see in the world by donating to this heart-warming cause.
