The S.Pellegrino Young Chef Competition is returning this year following the success of its first edition. A global scouting project to find the best young chef in the world, the competition is headed by S.Pellegrino, an ambassador of Italian taste and fine dining around the world.
The competition will divide the world into 20 areas, with 100 top chefs from around the globe that will act as jurors. There will be 20 young chef finalists and 20 chef mentors, and talents like Irish chef Mark Moriarty (winner of the 2015 edition) said of the experience, “The journey was an unforgettable and one off experience that I will never forget.”
The stellar panel of judges will be responsible for selecting the best young chef in the world, and include some of the world’s most renowned culinary masters: Carlo Cracco, Gaggan Anand, Elena Arzak and Mauro Colagreco.

S.Pellegrino Young Chef consists of four different phases: the online application, selection of regional shortlist and winner, the local finals, and the grand finale.
Applications will start on the 1st of January, 2016, via www.finedininglovers.com, where chefs (who must be no older than 30 and have at least a year of experience working in a restaurant as a chef) can submit their application and a signature dish. Finalists will be selected from each region, and chefs will continue advancing until they reach phase four: the Grand Finale. At the final stage, the young chefs will gather in Milan for one intense final competition in front of an international panel of judges.
