Open from 24–30 September 2016 (excluding the 25th and 28th), Zioso is a student-run pop-up restaurant that features classic Italian cuisine. The 12 Chinese International School students who are taking part in the project this year are passionate about food, and guests can head to PLATFORM event space in Sai Ying Pun to enjoy a five-course tasting menu that the team have worked hard to perfect.
The name Zioso, derived from the Italian word delizioso, conveys the simple philosophy of the team: they want the food to be delicious. The menu is priced at $380 per person and features a bruschetta platter and a caprese salad as starters. Guests can choose their main from three dishes that include classic spaghetti carbonara, lamb rack with mashed potato and asparagus and squid-ink fettuccine with chilli-garlic prawns, followed by two desserts.
In order to raise awareness of poverty and food insecurity in Hong Kong, Zioso will be donating all profits to local charity Feeding Hong Kong. That way, guests will not only be able to enjoy a deli(zioso) meal, but they’ll be giving back to the community too,
