If you are still pondering what to do on New Year's Eve in Hong Kong, Limewood and the New Year's Carnivale might be a good option

Roasted pork neck salad, fragrant herb salad, pomelo, crispy garlic

There can be few more romantic or hedonistic venues to spend New Year’s Eve than the beachside of elegant Repulse Bay, the cool sea breezes, stars overhead and sound of waves lapping in the distance.

Limewood has quickly gained fans across the city since opening thanks to its laidback vibes and eclectic menu mixing with and making the best of flavours and dishes from the Caribbean, Mexico, Vietnam and Japan.

One destination is front and center on New Year’s Eve however as the smart but relaxed venue becomes a little corner of the Caribbean, all dressed up and ready to party, Carnivale style. Expect vibrant colours, music to make you shake it and big bold flavours throughout the night.

Following a welcome glass of prosecco to get the party started, signature starters include Limewood’s signature US Pacific oysters, the roasted pork neck salad full of the heat and spice of Vietnam as the meat marinade comes to the fore. Canadian sea urchin is another first class ingredient, here served with a nod to Mexico, tostada-style, the perfect combination of crunch and the creamy umami hit.

For the main event, guests can choose from land or sea with either a USDA prime choice 21oz ribeye steak, cooked to perfection to your liking, or a pan-seared sea bream served with coconut rice.

Desserts bring with them a sweet ending in the form of churros, the beloved decadent favourite of deep fried dough sticks coated in icing sugar and served with sinful melted chocolate, or the lighter and sharper option of pineapple sorbet. Churros at Limewood
