Discover the legendary history of Foodie magazine’s former print publication – once a staple in Hong Kong’s F&B scene

Founded in 2009, Foodie began its defining reporting of Hong Kong’s F&B scene with the publication of a bi-monthly magazine, free for readers in all corners of Hong Kong.

In the very first Foodie magazine, we wrote about the opening of the Barbie Cafe in Shanghai and Starbuck’s very first ‘bing sutt‘. There’s a lobster tartar recipe, of course, and a run down of great British gastropubs in Hong Kong – sadly none of whom are still open.

From Gordon Ramsay to Jamie Oliver, we spoke to every top chef calling Hong Kong home until our last edition in June 2020.

Since July 2009, we had published over a hundred magazines that were found, read and shared in restaurants and coffee shops for free, all over Hong Kong.

Like every great story, our life on print came to an end with our final 108th magazine published in Jun 2020. Whilst we are not publishing any new physical magazines for the time being, however you may read the collection online here.

Chef Blumenthal, Nobu and Lau featured on our esteemed print magazine, sharing their stories exclusively with us.

In the meantime, keep an eye on the Foodie homepage, with our  contributors and editors roaming the city to tell you the best places to eat and drink in our wonderful Hong Kong.
