Stepping into Tanglin Cookhouse feels like a journey through time. Nestled in the heart of Tanglin Mall, this culinary haven invites diners into a lush British colonial-style setting that seamlessly melds old-world charm with contemporary opulence. The unique fusion of classic British dishes like fish and chips alongside Asian-inspired creations such as Hainanese kurobuta pork chop and Indian butter chicken adds to the enchantment.

Tanglin House Singapore Grilled Chicken Pesto Cream Sayse

Opting for the pasta proved to be a decision worth savoring. Grilled Chicken with Pesto Cream Sauce ($26) penne was perfectly cooked, offering a firm yet slightly chewy texture that created a delightful foundation for the dish. Masterfully seasoned sauces with the aromatic waft of garlic heightened each bite, creating a symphony of flavors. Although the grilled chicken erred on the side of being a bit hard and dry, the pesto cream sauce, with its delightful texture due to the tiny bits and pieces of nuts and other ingredients, made up for it.

Tiger Prawn Spicy Aglio Olio ($26) boasts a spicy kick, introducing a tantalizing heat that elevates the overall experience. The prawns were nicely charred, and the scattered bits and pieces of garlic throughout impart a bold and aromatic undertone.

The extensive brunch and lunch offerings cater to a variety of tastes, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Whether craving a hearty brunch or a lighter lunch, the menu generously presents a plethora of choices to satisfy every diner.

Our verdict of Tanglin Cookhouse

While the grilled chicken had room for improvement, the overall dining experience was enriched by the delightful pesto cream sauce and the bold flavors of the Tiger Prawn Spicy Aglio Olio. In terms of pricing, it’s slightly steeper, but the visit is undoubtedly worthwhile.
