Isono is a dominant eatery and bar in PMQ. Including Vasco, the restaurant holds the upper two levels with an industrial looking environment and natural light coming through the transparent ceiling. They serve exciting Spanish cuisine with Mediterranean flavours all day and very affordable lunch sets during the afternoon.
I started off with a simple Nicoise salad made using fresh salad leaves, string beans, russet potatoes, cherry tomatoes, hard boiled egg, capers and an olive oil based dressing. The slow cooked short ribs were excellently juicy and tender served with sweet grilled veggies on the side. The meal was completed with a crema catalana, aka burnt cream, which was airy, light and perfectly compromised with a sweet toffee ice cream and pineapple in the bottom layer.
It would be ridiculous to leave the restaurant without trying their signature gigantic apple tart tatin. Impressively made with thin phyllo pastry, caramel syrup, apple chunks and scoops of vanilla ice cream complete with visible pods! This place would be an absolutely perfect choice for food sharing!
