Bistro du Vin is a hidden gem of Kennedy Town that offers a real taste of authentic French cuisine. The decor includes vintage drawings and prints and an their intimate atmosphere offers the perfect setting for a lovely dining experience. Each table has a mini chalkboard showcasing specials of the day. During lunch time, Bistro du Vin offers an appealing menu set daily which happens to include some of their signature dishes as well!
Egg lovers should not miss this stunning appetiser: a satisfying traditional salted cod complete with olive oil and mashed potatoes and a dash of paprika for a sweet contrast to the hollandaise sauce.
Their perfectly baked French onion soup comes with a cheesy baguette which is served over a generous serving of caramelised sweet onions. Definitely be cautious about the piping hot bowl of succulent soup though!
Moving on to the main, the small yet juicy pigeon is slow-cooked to the ideal tenderness and aesthetically plated over mini rice-like pieces of pasta, made tastefully with creamy black pepper sauce.
A classic souffle is a perfect way to finish off any French meal. The delicious and superbly fluffy pudding made with orange brandy just melts in your mouth and they serve it with a simple scoop of vanilla ice cream and slivered almonds, which give it a cold and crunchy kick, respectively.
I absolutely love this mini bistro and trust me, this is an ideal spot to make your next French cuisine pilgrimage.
