Returning to this gorgeous looking vertical Green garden, it is not all about their representative afternoon tea tiers but so much more. Just last month, Green at Hotel Icon, launched a new weekend brunch. The brunch is set at a reasonable prices, offering a large selection of refreshing starters, fresh salads, quality hams, and also a weekly choice of various mains. The delectable meal ends with a top quality dessert buffet and then a cup of freshly squeezed fruit juice in addition to your coffee or tea.
At the buffet station, the food is as promising as it seems. The smoked salmon is fresh with lemon and capers, mini sliced goat cheese quiches and an endless selection of salami, hams and bresaola. I also love the honey mustard dressing which went perfect with my mixed greens and the crispy bacon on it.
Next is the the main course which includes pan seared sea bass, that is excellently flaky and silky in texture, the confit duck leg, which is surprisingly tender and succulent and is served on a bed of creamy potato mash. Renowned for their lobster tower at The Market, the half lobster is absolutely astonishing served over the al dente squid ink risotto. The seemingly simple egg benedict is perfection and is nicely poached with a runny yolk and garnished with lumpfish caviar.
While the appetisers and mains are impressively done, a powerful list of patisseries are indeed irresistible. Some recommendations include the blueberry crumble danish, espresso opera and the authentically caramelized mini canele.
Last but not least, there is also a surprise serving of mini durian cheese tarts made special by the chef.
