Helmed by the 3 Michelin-starred chef, Olivier Elzer, this gorgeous newly Michelin-awarded restaurant serves contemporary French cuisine as well as a unique afternoon tea that is presented in Season’s signature wooden wine box.
At this time of year, the summer seasonal French tea set combines both spectacular savouries and delightful sweets, in addition to traditional English scones.
Highlights include honeydew melon balls with white ham mousse, egg salad in a pretzel bun, a replication of a corndog named the Season's corn dog, choux puffs and mango & coconut panna cotta.
Feeling fancy? There are also options of cotton candy, cocktails and wines.
My absolute favourite are the scones, which are served separately on a long plate. Unlike the typical dense English biscuits, their homemade scones have a lovely, crispy crust with a slightly crumbly yet moist center. The scones come in two versions, plain and with raisins. There is also apricot jam and clotted cream for an optional addition to the already delicious scones.
In my honest opinion, the savouries are stunning in terms of presentation, but the quality is less than expected.
Nevertheless, Season’s serves some of the best delicious pastries in town. Favourites are surely the buttery financier, served atop a raspberry jam filled raspberry and the mini lemon tart, stuffed with sweet meringue and tangy lemon curd filling and a nicely executed pate sucree.
All in all, from the delectable pastries, attentive service and comfortable environment, the Season’s wooden box is utterly amazing. You do not want to miss it!
