Jinjuu is a modern Korean restaurant founded by celebrity chef Judy Joo. It encompasses both traditional and contemporary food. For children, there's a selection of adorably presented fusion dishes such as beef tacos, kimchi fried rice and beef skewer and chicken lollies. To celebrate the launch of the kids' menu, every child will get 50% off their meal. This offer ends 31 August, so book now.

Potato Head Hong Kong is a multi-purpose lifestyle venue that includes a retail store, an all-day café and bar, I Love You So Coffee shop, The Music Room and Kaum, an Indonesian restaurant. Recently, it has collaborated with florist June in March to offer flower workshops for kids aged from 4–10 years old, allowing them to learn the basis of floral design and decoration. More importantly to us, a new kids' menu has been introduced, adding to the summer fun. A selection of Malaysian food such as nasi goreng (fried rice with sweetcorn, prawns and fried egg) and aneka gorengan (fried prawn dumplings) will be served.

The next workshop (mason jar decorating and flower baskets) is scheduled for Saturday, 27 August from 10–11:30am and is priced at $250 per child to include a drink from I Love You So Coffee for one accompanying adult. To book, email

100 Third Street, Sai Ying Pun, 2858 6066

Cali-Mex offers two children's menus: the quesadilla menu includes tomato and cheese, grilled chicken and cheese and beef and cheese quesadillas, whilst the burrito menu offers beef and chicken burritos.

I have still yet to meet a child who doesn't like burgers and fries, which makes Dan Ryan's one of the top child-friendly restaurants in town – it's a great spot for a birthday celebration (oh how we bemoaned the recent closure of Dan Ryan's at Pacific Place). They have a relatively wide selection of dishes that appeal to kids, from mini burgers, to chicken fingers, to junior-sized BBQ ribs.
