If you're looking for some unique and refreshing drinks alongside a breathtaking view of the HK harbour, you've just found it.
The recent collaboration between David Rios, World Class 2013 Bartender of the Year (aka master of the martini), and Aqua unveils a brand new martini menu featuring the ever so smooth Tanqueray No. Ten. This menu, curated and presented specifically for Aqua Kowloon and Aqua Shard (London) by Rios himself, focuses on delighting all of the senses, quickly turning a drink into an experience. When watching Rios talk about and demonstrate the fine art of martini-making, it is easy to see his passion as a mixologist come through.
Rios has added a unique touch to compliment each of the four featured martinis on the new menu; 'Smell', 'Sake', 'Vermouthcito Time', and 'Eastern Martini'. His drink inspirations come from the east, west, and his own country of Spain, adding a unique flare to some classic drinks.
His creative infusion can be seen in the martini aptly named 'Smell'. This is a floral martini using dry-iced lavender to recreate the London fog. Smooth to the taste, appealing to all palates, and delightful to the sight, this martini is brought to you in a cloud of dry ice (making it highly photogenic).
Next is the 'Sake', a simple and smooth drink with only four ingredients. This martini takes inspiration from Asia and includes a twist of pink grapefruit to enhance the overall flavour.
The 'Vermouthcito Time' is beautifully served on a hand carved ice ball and garnished with an olive. This martini's inspiration is from a rather humorous comparison between British afternoon tea and Spain's vermouthcito time. So, if you're wondering what you should be doing at 3:00 pm, the answer is heading to Aqua to try this martini.
Finally, Rios presents the 'Eastern Martini' with a classic look, but an entirely different taste. This martini has Oriental infusions which are easily noted in the perfect combination of spices and fruit.
Each martini is priced at $148 and is only available until June. With drinks this good and views this stunning, what are you waiting for?
