Weekend Brunch Review: Urban Park

The weekend brunch at Urban Park had our tastebuds buzzing with delight

Urban Park has recently launched a new semi-buffet lunch at both their TST and Central locations, and since resisting a good weekend brunch is near impossible, we went to their Central branch to eat our way into a Saturday afternoon food coma. Urban Park's weekend brunch consists of an appetizer buffet bar, seafood soup of the day, choice of main, and dessert with coffee or tea for only $299.

The first thing you'll notice is how bright the restaurant is, thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows that let in lots of natural light with plenty of spacious seating. We arrived at 11:30 am when brunch begins, but it seemed as though the staff were a bit lost; the food was out, but there were no cutlery accompanying the dishes and for the first 30 minutes or so, we weren't paid much attention. Thankfully, shortly afterwards, service improved.

There was a sufficient selection of salads and antipasti dishes laid out on the bar, where you could choose from honey mustard artichoke and cauliflower, green apple and pork, pineapple and potato, and honey balsamic mushroom salad (a bit of a mayonnaise-base overload, but it worked). As for the antipasti dishes, there was a plate of grilled vegetables and a plate of cold cuts. All the dishes at the buffet were good, but there wasn't a particular dish that made us want to go back up for seconds.

Urban Park scored big points with their super cute latte art - we almost thought our little piggy and kitty were too cute to drink!

Whether you're in the mood for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Urban Park's choice of mains are sure to suit all taste-buds and types. The foie gras prime beef Burger was massive: patty, cheese, bacon, mushrooms, and - of course - foie gras, all carefully crafted between a large brioche bun. We also ordered the All Day "Hangover" Big Breakfast since someone at the table may or may not have been hungover.. The plate was large, but we were expecting a few more items in the dish given its claim as a "big breakfast".

The puffs were filled with a cool milk cream center, drizzled with a berry sauce. We loved the presentation of dessert, however, since we were filled to the brink with food at this point, we didn't think this dessert was worth trying to make more room in our stomachs for.
