The 1930s Royal Air Force bungalow at Seletar Aerospace Park has been split into four named zones, and one of them serves cake made with flowers grown a few metres from your table.
The Summerhouse, the 45,000 sq ft dining estate run by 1-Group, has reopened after its biggest refresh since it first opened in 2016. The grounds are now organised under four pillars, namely “Grow, Gather, Glow, Getaway”. A framework that maps onto four new or renewed programmes: a floral high-tea room, a relaunched Italian brunch, a dog-friendly trail, and an expanded bar with live music. Nothing has moved off the 3 Park Lane site; the conserved black-and-white bungalow, built for RAF officers’ families, is simply doing more with the same footprint.
The Bloom Room and a cake grown on-site
The newest addition is the Bloom Room, an indoor space for floral workshops and high tea. Its dessert list leans on the estate’s own Garden Beds — more than 20 varieties of herbs and plants grown along self-guided trails on the property — for a vanilla lavender blueberry petite cake and a pandan lime blossom cake, both built around edible flowers picked on-site rather than trucked in.
The Garden Beds aren’t just for show. Produce from them also supplies Wildseed Café, Wildseed Bar and Botanico, so the same lavender or lime blossom turning up in the Bloom Room’s cakes may also land in a cocktail or a pasta dish elsewhere on the grounds.
Botanico’s $60++ trolley brunch, and a bar that stays open past midnight
Botanico, the estate’s fine-dining Italian tenant, has added a Carrello Brunch at S$60++ per person. Small plates, tableside pasta (Parmigiano-finished, wheeled to the table), mains, and a dessert trolley. It’s a weekend addition to a restaurant that has already changed address once: Botanico originally opened at The Garage in the Singapore Botanic Gardens in 2017 before relocating to The Summerhouse, trading places with 1-Group’s Au Balcon, which now occupies its old Botanic Gardens spot. Botanico now runs Wednesday to Sunday, 6pm–10.30pm, with weekend and public holiday lunch from 11.30am–3pm.
Wildseed Bar gets a Sunset Porch with booth seating and daily live music, plus a Saturday Garden Grill pairing live-fire cooking with a live band. The bar runs daily from 5pm to midnight. Wildseed Café, the all-day arm, keeps more conventional hours: 8am–5pm daily, last order 4.30pm.
A lawn for markets, a trail for dogs
The Lawn remains the estate’s events space, hosting markets, pop-ups, giant lawn games and seasonal takeovers, including Oktoberfest, Christmas markets and Halloween installations all pencilled in through the rest of the year. New to the grounds is Wags & Wander, a dog-friendly zone built around The Oval, with pet meet-ups, dog-friendly brunches and walking trails for owners who’d rather not leave the dog at home.
The property still has its three geodesic Garden Domes, each seating up to eight, for private bookings — a holdover from the pre-refresh Summerhouse that the new four-pillar branding doesn’t touch.
